Antelope Canyon Adventure April 4-13, 2024
Janet and John's adventure in Arizona Well... That was mountains of fun, we decided to take a trip to see Antelope Canyon in Page Arizon. Planning took time and finding a spot that we could get it to fit into our schedule took some effort, but we did it! Our main goal being Antelope canyon we booked with two tour companies in the Navaho reservation. <company 1> and <company 2>. Trip was wonderful and hiking fantastic. Day 1, April 4, 2024 - Departing Hawaii!
Up early, wonderul Hans takes us to the hilo airport, like at 5:30am. Yikes, but early works and we check our bag, and get our tickets thru to Pheonix. Thank you Hans! Stopping at the lounge in Honolulu we eat and chill out till boarding. Our flight is pretty easy and on arrival, we are greated by Janets niece Nicole. Super wonderful, she gets us checked in and we head off to a wonderful dinner at the Tee Pee.

Day 2, April 5, 2024 - Pheonix to Sedona
Up and away bright and early to get our rental car, alas a 2 hour line wears us down. Later we learn, the "free upgrade" doubles our rental fee, not cool budget renta a car, that really sucked. But we perservere and get our car and head north after a chai and coffee stop. First stop is Montezuma Castle National Monument. A beautiful area with communities living in the rock wall faces.Cliff dwellings where started over 700 years ago, thats a long time ago for sure. But not for long, around 1400 the people started to leave the area. Why? No idea, but the area was made into a national monument by 1906.
Leaving the Pueblo's on to Sedona, we head to our next stop, Chapel of the Holly Cross. Built from 1954 to 1956, it offers a stunning view and is built into the red rocks of the area. Amazingly, they receive over 1 million visitors a year.

Up early, we catch the shuttle to the airport at like 5am. Good thing as it is a busy airport. No problem with our flight and this time we are set in the middle row, cheap seats, but hey, seats. Arriving in Honolulu, we hit the lounge and chill till our next flight out to Hilo. Our arrival home is easy and uncomplicated.
